SLT TRAINING: MAKING SENIORS LEADERS INTO FIRST-CLASS COACHES

Training to Develop Senior Leader Coaching Skills

Many senior leaders and established school staff in school already coach informally as part of their day to day job. This three-part training programme is intended to reinforce that expertise and formalise the role. Not only does it cover the expected areas of coaching methodology, it also looks at the difficulties inherent to the role of leader coach in working with people who may only recently have been peers rather than subordinates. Together we look building confidence by developing professional skills and establishing credibility and inciting respect in the people you will be working with.

I enjoyed the chance to talk, reflect on my methods and practice, and identify ways to move forward as a coach.

Jill Cullen, Leadership Team.

SLT TRAINING: CHALLENGING AND CHAMPIONING IN SCHOOL

Training to Depersonalise and Destress Performance Management

Research shows that many SLTs are often under-skilled and stressed by the people management aspect of their roles.

This two-part training will enable senior leaders to confidently and professionally deal with challenging staff performance issues. It also considers methods of demonstrating appreciation and encouraging innovation, improvement and distributed leadership traits in everyone in school.

Excellent support in conveying difficult messages in an appropriate way - I feel much more empowered.

Andrew Ramanandi, Headteacher.

This has given me the strategies I need to deal with a capability problem and has reinforced my determination to deal with the issue.

Ian Carroll, Headteacher.

A shot in the arm. Just what was needed.

Heather Gofton, Headteacher.

A leadership MOT. Every SLT should do this.

Cathy Westgate, Headteacher.
